			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Toccoa Falls (GA) &#8211; On Saturday, May 16, one hundred and forty-six young men and women received their college degrees from Toccoa Falls College.  The class of 2009 was the largest to graduate from the Christian college since 2001.  The Grace Chapel and Performing Arts Center was filled with family and friends for the commencement ceremony.</p>
<p>The weekend commemoration began with the Baccalaureate Service Friday evening.  Mr. Stuart McAllister of Ravi Zacharias International Ministries, whose son Cameron was among the graduates, encouraged the class to model excellence.  Graduate Carson Clark, who served as president of the History Society and Philosophy Club during his senior year, received special recognition for scholarly leadership and service regarding the American Evangelicalism Conference hosted by the college in March.</p>

<p>Dr. David Fannin, a 1969 graduate of Toccoa Falls College and pastor of the Nassau Bay Baptist Church in Houston, Texas, delivered the commencement address Saturday.  He based his remarks on Romans 12:1-2 and challenged the graduates to live as a sacrifice.</p>

<p>Dr.  Wayne Gardner presented the President’s Medallion Award to Rev. Milton Brown, a missionary in South America for forty-five years, and to Rev. James Gorgans, who has served in a creative clown ministry to children</p>
<p>and adults for many years. The President’s Medallion is the highest award given by the college and recognizes outstanding service to the kingdom of God.</p>
<p>The predominant degrees confirmed in the ceremonies were in the areas of Teacher Education, Christian Education, and World Missions.  Each of those schools awarded degrees to twenty-three graduates.</p>
